Beaven, Thomas. An essay concerning the restoration of primitive Christianity, in a conduct truly pious and religious. London: printed for James Phillips, 1793. ix(3), 162 pp. + 6 pp. of bookseller's advertisements at the end. 12mo, contemporary sheep (slight wear to spine). Third edition; first printed in 1723, and again in 1729. A Quaker treatise, with chapters on prayer, preaching, liberty of conscience, etc.; an edition was printed in Newport, Rhode Island, by Benjamin Franklin's brother, in 1734. All editions are uncommon. A very good crisp copy; early ownership inscription of the Quaker Meeting in Poole, in Dorset.
