Arscott, Alexander Some considerations relating to the present state of the Christian religion London 1734
Arscott, Alexander. Some considerations relating to the present state of the Christian religion. Wherein, the principle evidence of the Christian religion is farther explain'd and defended; in answer to the objections made against it in a late Vindication of the Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry. With an appendix, containing some remarks on a passage in the second volume of Bishop Burnet's History of his Own Times. Part III. London: printed and sold by the assigns of J. Sowle, 1734. vii(1), 123(1) pp. 8vo, disbound. First edition. A Quaker's reply yo Richard Smalbroke's Vindication of the Miracles of Our Blessed Saviour. The first two parts of Arscott treatise were published in 1729 and 1731; they are really quite distinct works, and are almost always found separately. Editions of these reprinted in Philadelphia in 1731-2 were among Benjamin Franklin's first imprints. This third part was also reprinted in Philadelphia, in 1738, by Andrew Bradford. In very good condition; uncommon.
