First edition of both parts. Beatson served for many years with the East India Company, and saw action in the campaign against Tippoo Sultaun; he was later appointed governor of St. Helena. After his retirement, he devoted his attention to running a farm near Tunbridge Wells, where he conducted numerous agricultural experiments, as described in this work. With four engraved plates in the first part, of newly-invented farming implements, a clay kiln, and Indian ploughs; the supplement has three further folding plates, of a new sort of plough.
