First edition. The only book by a gentleman farmer from Horton Kirby, in Kent. Included in this substantial treatise are chapters on various crops, on manure and fertilizers, on the raising of livestock, etc.; Banister confined his remarks to subjects with which he was personally familiar. "Banister was a thinker, and made a few cautious steps towards modern theories of plant nutrition." -- Fussell.
