Agriculture Account of the mode Bristol 1800
[Agriculture.] An account of the mode and expence of cultivating moss and peat lands, copied from the Edinburgh Advertiser, of May 2, 1800. Bristol: printed by Biggs and Cottle, 1800. 16 pp. 8vo, disbound. First edition. The article submitted is signed "Agricola." The method described was that of Mr. Smith, of Swinridgemuir, between Beith and Irvine, in the county of Ayrshire. A rare pamphlet from the Bristol press of Wordsworth's early publisher. There appears to be some confusion in the ESTC collation. Six copies are recorded (L, AWn, AWu, Lu, REu; MBCo); of these, two are reported as lacking a half-title, two as lacking a title-page, and two as unverified. In fact the pamphlet has a single gathering of eight leaves, without no half-title suggested by either the collation or pagination. Small light ink splash at the foot of the title-page, but a very good copy. Not in Fussell; not in Perkins.
