Homer (attrib.): Homeri Hymnus in Cererem, Nunc Primum Editus a Davide Ruhnkenio. Accedunt Duae Epistolae Criticae, ex Editione altera, multis partibus locupletiores.  Lugduni Batavorum [Leiden], apud Samuel. et Joann. Luchtmans, 1782

Book, 8vo. pp. xvi, 84 (but 98), 303, [iii]. Greek text. Trivial spotting, generally a clean example. Contemporary calf, attractively rebacked, corners renewed.

Glasgow, Edinburgh and Durham hold examples with a 1781 imprint, but the misnumeration specified in the Edinburgh and Durham copies is the same as ours, and it is clearly just a variant title. The Homeric Hymn to Demeter, composed in approximately the seventh century BC, served as the canonical hymn at the heart of the Eleusian Mysteries, the most revered ritual celebrations of ancient Greece held annually in hour of Demeter and Persephone.
