The carefully coloured engraved plates show herbs, flowers, fruits, mushrooms, rinds etc. Artus (1809-1880) was studying from 1830 - 1832 in Jena and since 1840 he was Professor for Pharmacy. He was publisher and editor of numrous pharmacological works. Although at least 7 editions have been published, all must have appeared in small numbers, as this work is very seldom offered for sale. - Missing the text-volume. Some plates a bit browned, otherwise a good copy of this attractively illustrated atlas. - Nissen BBI 53.
