With a vignette on title, a most attractive and large three-side border on A1, several large and small decorative initials, numerous geometrical figures and diagrams, and a woodcut printer's device at end. (10), (230) ff.; generally a fresh copy, with some foxing and light soiling on a few leaves, and small wormholes at beginning and end occasionally just touching the text.

«A very important edition appeared in 1505 printed at Venice by Joannes Tacuinus. It was translated into Latin from a Greek text by Bartolommeo Zamberti... The volume itself is a first-rate example of the Venetian book of the time. There is an elaborate title-page with the printer's well-known cut of John the Baptist at the foot. The first page of the text has a fine border, and the larger initials are a charming set depicting children playing. The enunciations are printed in gothic, the demonstrations in roman type. In 1510 some of the same sheets were reissued with a freshly printed last page containig the colophon, a misreading of which has often led to the issue being described as of 1517. Both issues seem to be amongst the rarest of early Euclids...» (Thomas Stanford, Euclid, n.5 and p.5). Essling 283. Adams E-973. Riccardi II, 645. Honeyman 974
