Second edition of the important dialogue on painting in which Dolce compares Michelangelo, Rapahel and Titian (first edition: 1557, but without the French translation which is here in first edition). The information on Titian, who was a friend of the author and the artist he preferred, are the earliest available and they had a great influence on Vasari, Lomazzo, Borghini and other art historians.
