Second enlarged edition of the most complete work on the materia medica of its time (1st 1694). The author, French pharmacologist, chemist and botanist collected spices and plants in various countries. He published the result of his research in the present work which is also remarkable for its numerous fine illustrations: animals, exotic plants, minerals and shells; the preparation of tobacco, sugar-cane, silk, cotton, indigo and rubber; fishing, apiculture and other arts & crafts.
