Second edition (1st 1625) of this defence of great man who had been falsely accused of magic. Naudé, distinguished physician and librarian to Richelieu and Mazarin, defends amongst others Socrates, Aristotle, Plotin, Albertus Magnus, Lullus, Paracelsus, Savonarola, Nostradamus, etc. Thorndike VII, p.300.
