4to. 19th century polished calf, gilt fillets on covers,spine in 6 compts. richly gilt and with a leather label, inner gilt dentelles, gilt edges, marbled end-papers, by Petit. Vignette on title showing a hunting scene, 30 almost full-page illus. in the text of falcons, and numerousdecorative initials all woodcut. (4), 127, (5) ff.; upper margin short but not touching headline, otherwise a good and very attractively bound copy.
The 3rd and definitive edn. which had 9 reprints. It is very different from the 2nd edn. and goes back to the text of the1st edn. (ca. 1531). Souhart 195. Harting 145: «Though thus frequently reprinted, it is still amongst the rarest of French works on the subject».
