First edition of Jane Austen’s last two published novels, with an account of her life by her brother Henry. Northanger Abbey, her classic pastiche of Gothic fiction with Isabella Thorpe’s canonical list of ‘Horrid’ novels, was probably the earliest of her works, begun about 1798, but it was not published until here with Persuasion (her last completed work) in 1818, a year after her death.
