First edition of a rare and charming privately published anthology of artists' songs, published with an interval of seventeen years. The songs were written by Swiss and German artists including Appenzeller, Dach, Dunker, von Kotzebue, Schellenberg, Usteri, Veith and many others and published for the meeting of artists at Zofingen in Switzerland. Goethe contributed a song to the second volume (pp. 138-9). The last 36 pages of the first volume give the musical notations to each song.
