Folio, [34] leaves of plates; in excellent condition; bound in 19th century boards.

First and only edition. Latin inscriptions on monuments found by the painter Sebastiano Aragonese (b. 1523) in the vicinity of Brescia. The inscriptions are cut dramatically into wood in white on black on 34 blocks. The plates were ready in the 1560s but never issued, and only rediscovered in Brescia in the late 18th century and then published for the first time in a very small edition.
