ELM Press. Millay, Edna St. Vincent. Grace from Simple Stone. Poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay. Lithographs by Enid Mark. Philadelphia, PA ELM Press 1992
One of 50 copies, the last available from the publisher, hand numbered, signed in pencil by the artist on the Afterword, all on Rives heavyweight paper. Page size: 13-1/4 x 19-1/2 inches, each poem a double page spread with the exception of "Justice Denied in Massachusetts" which is a triple- page spread, 38pp. Bound by Barbara Blumenthal: forest green silk cloth over boards with gilt stamping on front cover and spine, fine. Printed in Monotype Dante by Daniel Keleher at Wild Carrot Letterpress. The lithographs were printed in four colors: light gray, dark gray, rose gray, and pale green, often with a bleed to the page edge. The artist devised small paper constructions, photographed their forms, lines, and shadows, and translated the resulting image to lithographs that envelope and enfold the text. They were pulled by Timothy Sheesley at Corridor Press. This edition of 15 poems celebrates the 1992 centenary of the birth of Edna St. Vincent Millay.
