First Edition thus. Small 8vo; 170 and 132pp. Elaborate trade binding by Margaret Armstrong, stamped with her paraphe "MA" on front panel in gilt, blue cloth stamped in gilt red and white with title in gilt on front panel and author, artist and title in gilt on spine, teg, original glassine on both volumes. Over glassine is white card-stock dust jacket stamped in blue on the spines repeating gilt design stamped on spines of book. There is a trace of wear to the bottom edges of both volumes, offsetting of glassine to endpapers on both volumes, ownership stamp in blind on front flyleaf, titlepage and frontispiece of Vol. I and front flyleaf of Vol. II. White jackets a bit soiled, especially on spine; glassine on Vol. I with 2" closed tear at bottom front foreedge, else fine. A lovely set. Illustrated with frontis portrait and 30 photogravure plates after the wood-engraved illustrations in the Moxon folio edition of 1868. Gullens and Espy, 259. UCLA Checklist 224.
