Bound: full vellum non-adhesive binding sewn on exposed vellum laces by Claudia Cohen,fine. Ancient Needs is a story in prose and poetry about the harp seals by Mark Philip Carol, with eleven two-color aquatint and drypoint etchings and four woodengravings by Alan James Robinson, introduction by Brian Davies, founder of the International Fund for Animal Welfare. The text, set in Centaur and Arrighi, is printed on T.H. Saunders hot-pressed watercolor paper, with etchings printed on Rives BFK protected by sky blue Japanese Moriki paper. Housed in a blue-grey silk-linen tray case, fine. As usual, a beautiful book from Alan Robinson.
