Titlepage with letterpress printed in black. Bound: 3/4 crimson morocco and pastepaper boards, spine title gilt, top edge gilt. Original covers bound in: stiff beige wove wrappers with title Nuits de Paris arranged in pyramid of diminishing letters. Copy no. 274 on velin blanc Montgolfier d'Annonay (watermark "Montgolfier Annonay"), one of 360 copies from a total edition of 430: 20 on velin d'Arches a la cuve with double suite of etchings on Japon and on Montgolfier, reserved for the "Amis du Sans Pareil," 20 on Japon imperiale, with a double suite, 30 on verge blanc d'Hollande with an extra suite, 360 on Montgolfier (several reserved for collaborators). Page size l0 7/8 x 8 3/4 in., 27.5 x 22 cm. Illustrated by Andre DIGNIMONT (l891-1965) with 26 etchings including color frontispiece plus l3 etchings hors-texte printed in black ink. Francis CARCO (l886- 1958), pseudonym for Francois Carcopino-Tupsoli, was a member of the Academie Goncourt. The text was printed by R. Coulouma in Argenteuil, H. Barthelemy, director; the etchings were pulled by A. & M. Vernant in Paris.
