Paris, 1548 Small 8vo: medallion portrait on title-page. Contemporary Parisian calf, covers with panel formed by triple rules in blind, gilt fleur-de-lys at outer angles, small central ornaments stamped in silver (oxydised). Small repairs to spine; a little wear, but a very attractive copy in its first binding. A very rare edition of Dolet's translation of the first three books of the Tusculanae Quaestiones. After Dolet's imprisonment his most popular works, which included his Ciceronian commentaries and translations, were soon reprinted by Parisian and Lyonnaise publishers. Ruelle published the Questions Tusculanes in 1544 and it was reprinted in the edition here.Not in B.M.STC.; not in Adams; not reported to NUC.
