JUVENAL: CERUTI Federico. Satyrarum libri quinque, locupletissima, nec minus utili, paraphrasi illustrati a Federico Ceruto.

Augsburg, J. Praetorius (Schultes), 1599. 4to: device on title (neatly coloured in a contemporary hand), italic type for Juvenal's text, roman for the paraphrases. Contemporary vellum, piece torn from front endpaper. First edition of the satires prepared by Ceruti and accompanied by his prose paraphrases. He achieved some fame for his verse and particularly for his paraphrases of Horace. This seems to be the only one of his works not published by Discepolo in Verona: it is dedicated to Philip Fugger.
