Bologna, Anselmo Giaccarelli, 1551 4to: publisher's device on titlepage, two full-page woodcut chiromantic hands. 18th century marbled boards, spine chipped, a fine untrimmed copy. Only edition of this work by the brothers Gaurico. Luca, the elder, was famous for his astrological predictions and works on astronomy. Pomponio achieved early fame as a poet and humanist writer on art. He had been assassinated in 1538 and Luca prepared the work for publication in Bologna with a long dedicatory letter to Ercole II of Ferrara.Not in Adams; not in B.M.STC; only two copies at present noted in the Censimento; untraced in NUC.
