Venice, Aurelio Pincio, 1533 4to: large woodcut on title-page. 19th(?) century green morocco, large central lozenge composed of entrelac tools with a central oval onlay of red morocco with gilt 'Venetian' leaf. Inscription on title-page and some stains in first 8ff. still discernible after careful washing. Only edition of this long poem on a theme drawn from the Charlemagne cycle dealing with the exploits of the Paladins. Written in ottave rime there are twelve cantos. The title woodcut is striking: measuring 147 x 118mm. it shows a mounted female warrior accompanied by a standard-bearer entering a city.
