ALCIAT Andreas. Judiciarii processus compendium, eusdem Orationes in laudem juris civilis.

Cologne, Melchior von Neuss, 1537 8vo: woodcut on title-page, several interesting woodcut initials. Contemporary blind-tooled calf with wide roll of flowers and leaves. Marginal waterstain in first gathering. Rare third edition of this influential work. Although Alciat wrote to Amerbach denying his authorship and to Campeggio protesting at the false attribution, the work continued to appear under his name. It may well have been compiled from notes taken at his lectures. The two orations by Melanchton and Munster which are announced on the title-page were not, in fact, included. Not in B.L.STC; not in Adams; NUC lists only one copy (WaU).
