(Dijon, Chavance, 1667) Small 4to: modern binding of old vellum, manuscript notes in French in lower margin of titlepage and top of blank verso. Only edition of this life of Philandrier set in the form of a letter to Cardinal Francesco Barberini. The author was famous as a historian of Burgundy whose unrivalled collection of books and manuscripts on the region was bought by the King. He naturally gives prominence to Philandrier's time in Rome where his work had been rewarded by honorary citizenship.
