ALBERTO da Padova. In euangelia totius anni dominicalia..., (Turin, in aedibus Antonii Ranoti, 19 February) 1529
4to. 382ff. Title in red and black within a woodcut border, woodcut initials, outer margins lightly waterstained at the beginning, in later sixteenth century vellum.
Probably the fifth edition of Alberto da Padova's gospel sermons for the year, first printed in 1476. The author (c.1269-1323 or 1328), born at Padua, was an Augustinian monk and preacher much admired by Boniface VIII. At his death the citizens of Padua raised a monument to him and throughout the Middle Ages and Renaissance he was considered by them to be one of Padua's greatest scions. On the title-page a certain Fr. Hieronymus of the Genoese Inquisition has written a three-line inscription (partly repeated on the last page of the preliminary matter), dated 16 January 1561, and has deleted many side-notes in the text.
