FIRST EDITION of the first of Boutrays’ poems on French cities. Orléans (Aurelia) appeared in 1615 and Châteaudun (Castellodunum) in 1627. The author (c.1552-1630) was a historian from Châteaudun and appears only to have written on French history, mostly of his own time. Knobelsdorf’s verse description of Paris appears here for the second time.Graesse I, p.504.
