Second (and slightly enlarged) edition, the first having been published four years earlier, of Doni’s second Libraria, a list of contemporary authors’ unpublished works – the first Libraria being a list of their published output. These two early essays in bibliography are of great importance. Although Conrad Gesner had published between 1545 and 1549 three volumes containing all the works that he knew in Hebrew, Greek and Latin, this is the first attempt to present a national catalogue of published and unpublished works in the vernacular.Censimento CNCE 17699; Casali 107; not in Adams
