FIRST of several sixteenth and seventeenth century editions of this work which gives in alphabetical order by subject papal decisions concerning the mendicant orders, by a Spanish Franciscan from Toledo. The somewhat heavy style of the woodcut of St Catherine reminds Rava of the illustrations of the sybils in Benalio’s edition of Barberiis’ Discordantiae, (n.d.) and of some of the woodcuts in the Modern Greek Homer printed by Stefano Nicolini da Sabbio in the same month as the above book.Censimento CNCE 9805 (12 copies); Rava 1755bis; Palau 46930 (with a suggestion that there might have been an edition printed at Valladolid in 1525); not in Adams or RLIN; OCLC locates the copy at the Pratt Institute, New York.
8vo. 256ff. Woodcut on title-page of St Francis receiving the stigmata and a full-page illustration at end of St Catherine with her symbols of martyrdom, in seventeenth century Italian vellum.
