(EIFFEL, Gustave) Groot Eiffel Toren Spel. Amsterdam, J.Vlieger nd (c.1889)
Handsome broadsheet, printed in colour on recto and b&w on verso. 63 x 46cm. Some small tears at edges, only one affecting printed surface. Folded in the middle. The Eiffel Tower was the inspiration for a wide variety of souvenirs, produced not only in France but all over Europe. The present item is a handsome sheet which forms the basis for a game and shows the Tower dotted with numbers and figures of children. Presumably it was meant to be played with counters and dice. On the back is printed an elevation of the structure, comparing its height with other towers and giving facts and figures. A rare and ephemeral item.
