DODD, Ralph Report on the various improvements, civil and military, that might be made in the haven or harbour of Hartlepool: as surveyed at the request of the corporation, by R.Dodd, Engineer. (Newcastle-upon-Tyne) 1795
8vo. (ii) + 17 + (1)pp. Quarter calf. Skempton No.374. A rare item. A rare report from that curious engineer, Ralph Dodd, reporting to the Corporation of Hartlepool as to the suitability of its harbour to serve as a naval depot for warships and the improvements necessary to render it a better haven for the peacetime shipping trade. The Corporation must have been happy with the result for Dodd was re-employed the following year to prepare a new chart of Hartlepool Bay.
