GREY GORGE BRIDGE Report on the accident to the Grey George suspension bridge. (Wellington, NZ) 1876

4to. 18pp. Boards. Parliamentary enquiry into the failure of a 300ft span cable bridge over the Brunner Gorge of the Grey River (west coast, South Island). This structure was deigned by Carruthers to carry coal trucks (though not locomotives) from a coal mine on the north side to the railway on the south side of the river. The present item contains the report into the causes of the failure the reasons for them, together with the minutes of evidence.
