GLUCK, (Christoph Willibald). Paris, Des Lauriers (before 1792).
Folio. (2) lvs. (title, publisher's catalogue, dedication to Marie Antoinette), 211 pp., (1) p. (blank). Engraved throughout. 19th century green boards (rubbed, corners slightly damaged, small tears to head of spine), handwritten spine label. Second edition of the full score. Printed from the plates of the original edition, new title ("Titelauflage").Later issues of the edition - printed after 1792 - contain a new title lacking the dedication to Marie Antoinette and substituting "l'Académie Royal by "l'Academie Nationale". Slightly browned throughout, margins more intensively, in places damp-stained as well. Some entries with pencil. Paste-downs water-marked, the front one with a mounted label with advertisement of a trader of paper at Paris. Front free end-paper with a handwritten entry on the Paris printer Farrenc on a mounted label. Hopkinson 46 A (b), but with unpriced title; RISM G 2816; BSB/Mu 2270; not in CPM.
