RARE EXPANDED EDITION FO THIS IMPORTANT WORK, originally published in 1818. The TRAITE is a handsome work which gives instructions on laying out gardens, plantings, use of water and rocks. Many of the plates contain four separate images, including a wide variety of garden plans, designs for fanciful gardens, pavilions, fountains, monuments, garden bridges, temples, Chinese pagodas, obelisks, Marie-Antoinette's Petit Trianon, classic and Gothic structures, and hydraulic machines for water delivery.
