With a beautifully hand-coloured engraved half-title, a portrait frontispiece, engraved dedication pages, 11 engraved plates with tissue guards, additional vignettes throughout and each page with lovely engraved scenic borders. 12mo, in an exquisite French binding by Duru of full green morocco, the covers decorated with a gilt ruled geometric interlocking designs with the border corners stippled and tooled in an intricate interlocking pattern, the spine in five between raised bands, the compartments decorated with a matching geometric and stippled designs and one compartment with lettering in gilt, board edges gilt ruled with double fillet lines, and turn-ins gilt decorated with a delicately rolled pattern in highly stylized floral motif. The page edges are richly gilt and the endpapers are very finely marbled. 477, [2]. A very beautiful copy, exceptionally fine and well preserved.
