Original printed wrappers, uncut and unopened, foxing throughout as usual, ink ownership inscription on title., The present volume contains the author's famous researches on the physiology of the heart and lungs, many of which appeared in the Archives générales de médecine between 1834 and 1853. Beau (1806-65), a physician and professor of medicine at Paris, made original studies of the sounds originating in the organs of respiration and circulation. He was well known as one of the main promoters of pathological physiology.
