Hand-coloured aquatint engraved folding frontispiece to Volume I, and stipple-engraved folding frontispiece to Volume II. With numerous woodcuts (some full page) and a folding program for the Theatre Royal announcing Miss Biddy Suckling in The Tempest and The Infant Caliban which is added to the performance in Volume II. Contemporary half-calf over marbled boards, covers lightly rubbed, but an excellent copy., Third edition of Volume I and first edition of Volume II, with nine additional dialogues, as overheard by James Beresford. Beresford (1764-1840) was a miscellaneous writer and clergyman. He made translations and wrote religious books, but was chiefly know as the author of the present satirical book. Wonderful reading at any time.
