This is a fine and carefully presented manuscript for theoretical analysis of methods used in naval navigation. This is an original unpublished 19th century treatise with no record in the Bodleian Library or elsewhere. The author has placed a working draft page at rear of book that offers good information on the process used in preparing textual matters prior to final writing in a fine hand. The entire manuscript is very readable and diagrams well laid out in relation to descriptive text and calculations.
