This is Berthelot’s personal copy of an article on electromagnetism and atomic physics, a new area for the author who worked mainly in the field of organic and thermo-chemistry. This treatise was read before the Societé Internationale des Electriciens. The corrections and separate manuscript notes were for a second edition. Studies by Einstein, Plack as well as the Michelson-Morley experiment are mentioned in the printed text.
