Collation: Vol. 1 – xvi, 416 p. + 3 color plates and 95 in text illustrations; Vol. 2- [vi] 405 [1] [2] 4 p. + in text illustrations no. 96 – 131. There is some wear to ends of spines and corners. The front free end papers have embossed institutional stamp that is also present on title page. The text is in very good condition with minor pencil annotations and some pencil notes on recto of rear free end page of volume 2. The notes are probably from prior owner, Arthur Dendy, whose name is on half title in volume 1. (There is evidence that Dendy’s name was also on half title in volume 2 but erased.)
